History : Extended Mission of Jeevan Jyothi Convent,Jamshedpur

Need of the Time :- To continue the healing ministry of Jesus for the sick and suffering especially for Leprosy, HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis.

Facilitators of the Mission :- Rev. Felix Toppo S.J. Bishop of Sr. Innamma Yeruva and Council

Starting point :- the origin of the hospital begins as the dream of Mr. Jiri Holy the President of Likevidance Lepry Czech Republic. On his visit to Bhilai Pahari , he observed poor living of the daily labourers who live at the valley of the mountains. Their medical care was the felt need of the day. The sisters of Mercy of Charles Boromeo from Czech Republic came to render their services to the people. Due to health reasons and language problem they closed down their convent. In 2004 a convent and dispensary was built and the JMJ sisters were requested to render the services to the people. On 10 April 2006 the convent was blessed by Bishop Felix Toppo S.J. They started to live with a vision- committed for ever to continue the healing ministry of Jesus for the sick and suffering especially for lepers ,HIV/ AIDS and Tuberculosis affected patients..

Current Status :- Hospital and Pre-Primary School

Occupying area :- 8 acre

Challenges :- To meet the needs of the people of the area through health care and education.
